The Pro Kabaddi League Season 13 final between Patna Pirates and Jaipur Pink Panthers shattered all previous viewership records, drawing 52 million simultaneous viewers to become the most-watched PKL match in the league ten-year history. Patna Pirates won the title 45-38 in a match of relentless attacking raids and crucial defensive tackles. Star raider Pawan Sehrawat, playing for Patna, scored a Super 10 in the final and was named Player of the Season with 287 raid points from 26 matches, the second-highest in a single PKL season.
PKL Commissioner Anupam Goswami said the viewership numbers reflect kabaddi emergence as a genuine top-tier sport in India. The league has grown revenues by 40% in the past two seasons driven by digital streaming and increased brand partnerships. All 12 franchises reported record merchandise sales during Season 13. The success of PKL has inspired the government to push for kabaddi inclusion in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, with a formal bid expected to be submitted to the International Olympic Committee by 2026.
