Pushpa 3: The Rampage, starring Allu Arjun and directed by Sukumar, shattered all Indian box office records in its opening weekend, collecting Rs 600 crore worldwide in three days to surpass the previous opening record set by Jawan in 2023. The film, which continues the story of the fictional red sandalwood smuggler Pushpa Raj, opened to a frenzy not seen in Indian cinema since Baahubali 2, with shows running around the clock in major cities and theatre occupancy touching 100% in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Trade analysts declared Pushpa 3 a historic blockbuster and predicted it would cross Rs 3,000 crore worldwide in its theatrical run. Director Sukumar said the response is beyond his wildest imagination and that the audiences have given the film an unprecedented love. Allu Arjun, dubbed National Star after winning the National Film Award for Pushpa 2, called the opening a victory for pan-India cinema. The film will release in 78 countries and has already collected Rs 90 crore in pre-release satellite and streaming rights for international territories alone.
