Yash Raj Films confirmed it is developing a remake of the beloved 1995 classic Karan Arjun with Junaid Khan, son of Aamir Khan, and Ibrahim Ali Khan, son of Saif Ali Khan, as the two male leads, recreating one of Bollywood most iconic brotherly duos for a new generation. The original film starred Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, and in a deeply sentimental move, both original stars have agreed to appear in extended cameo roles in the remake as a passing of the torch moment that is expected to be a major crowd-pleasing moment in the film.

Director Farah Khan, who choreographed the original, has come on board to helm the remake, making it a deeply personal project for all involved. Salman Khan confirmed his participation on Bigg Boss saying it is important to give the next generation a chance and he is proud of Ibrahim. Shah Rukh Khan posted a video wishing the team well with the message that Karan Arjun will live forever, hinting at his own appearance. YRF has targeted a Diwali 2026 release for the remake.
